Welcome to the Robotics Club – The Student-Led Robotics Community at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi!
The Robotics Club at IIT Delhi is a dynamic, student-run initiative focused on building intelligent, autonomous systems and pushing the boundaries of robotics and automation. We actively work across a range of domains, including embedded systems, ROS, computer vision, machine learning, mechanical design, and real-time control.
Our mission is to cultivate curiosity, enable hands-on learning, and promote engineering excellence through impactful projects, mentorship, and participation in global competitions.
Here are some of the diverse and innovative projects developed by our members:
- IITD Bus Tracker: A real-time GPS tracking system for campus buses, providing students and staff with accurate arrival times and live locations.
- Biometric attendance system: A fingerprint-based system designed for secure, automated attendance in academic settings.
- Quadruped Robot: ROS2 Humble-based, IoT-enabled robot featuring advanced locomotion and robust mechatronic design, suitable for dynamic terrains.
- Hexabot: A six-legged spider-like robot capable of complex locomotion and stability control using inverse kinematics and adaptive gait algorithms.
- IoT-Enabled 2D Plotter: Converts digital sketches into precise pen movements using wireless control.
- Ball Balancing Bot: A 3-RRS parallel manipulator that uses a resistive touchpad, PID control, and inverse kinematics to balance a ball.
- Custom Quadrotor Drone: A fully self-built drone with in-house motor drivers and remote controller.
- Pixhawk Drone: Quadcopter featuring auto takeoff, landing, and mission planning using the Pixhawk flight controller.
We conduct a range of activities to engage and empower robotics enthusiasts at all levels:
- Hands-On Workshops: Covering Arduino, Raspberry Pi, SolidWorks, ROS, OpenCV, and more.
- Summer Projects: Mentorship-driven summer programs for newcomers to explore and develop robotics ideas.
- Tryst Competitions: Annual robotics challenges organized as part of IIT Delhi’s technical fest, Tryst.
Our club has consistently represented IIT Delhi at top-tier robotics competitions with notable accolades:
- 🥇 ABU Robocon 2015: Best Innovation Award for an advanced autonomous robot.
- 🥈 ABU Robocon 2007: National winners at Robocon Pune; represented India on the international stage, demonstrating engineering excellence.
We’re always excited to connect with students, alumni, industry experts, and fellow robotics enthusiasts. Reach out, collaborate, or just follow along!
