Overview
Talp's Additions is a mod about expanding vanilla and give the game a brand new feel! The plan is to give you the opportunity to expand your gameplay in every direction, from building and decoring, all the way to farming resources. The mod also aims to add some little details, just to make your surroundings more interesting and colorful: you'll find new flowers, new mobs and a lot of other small additions that will help the gameplay to feel a lot more alive.
With that said, I'll explain you the basics of the mod, briefly talking about every feature, just to give you a general overview, so you can start your journey yourself:
Note: for crafting and recipes, refer to the apposite section. For extended explanation on some functionalities visit the Functionality Explained section. (Regular Craftings, Gen-Lab Craftings, Functionalities Explained)
- Mole's Nose: dropped by moles, is used to craft Mysterious Sensory Organ
- Shiny Shard Ore: new rare ore (as rare as emerald). It spawns in small veins or just alone in every biome, between y:4 and y:32. It drops itself and have to be smelted to obtain Shiny Shards
- Shiny Shard Block: decorative block made using Shiny Shards, it's also used to create the Re-Enchanter setup
- Shiny Shard: new material obtained smelting Shiny Shard Ore. Can be grinded with a Mortar and Pestle to obtain Shiny Shard Dust and it's used in crafting recipes
- Shiny Shard Dust: obtained grinding a Shiny Shard with a Mortar and Pestle. Used to brew Potions of Luck
- Mole Hide: dropped by moles, it is used to craft normal leather
- Heap of Dirt: generates in grassy areas, in small groups or by itself and can not be harvested. Pour water on it to make the mole inside exit
- Floreal Vines: identical to regular vines, but with flower on top. Their color changes in based on the biome they're placed in. Those vines generate in jungle, swamp and floreal forest biomes. They are crafted in Gen-Lab
- Gen-Lab: tile entity used to create Resource Animals and some other items of the mod. It needs power in order to process. It changes its aspect depending on if it's processing or not. Check out the Gen-Lab Crafting section for info on the recipes

Floreal Decoration: decorative block that behaves like vines but can't be climbed

Petal: dropped by Hydrangea Bushes, it's used in Gen-Lab craftings

Bush Leaf: dropped by Hydrangea Bushes and regular Bushes, it's used in Gen-Lab craftings

Bush: regualr bush that won't hurt you. It drops Bush Leaf and generates in every grassy biome

Hydrangea Bushes: bushes that won't hurt you. They drop Bush Leaf and Petal and generate in floreal forests and near rivers. They can be crafted in Gen-Lab. Hyrangea Bushes come in 5 different colors:
Red:
Pink:
Blue:
White:
Lilac:

New Rose Bushes: identical to regular rose bushes but in different colors(Orange, Yellow, Green, Multicolored and Purple). They spawn in forests and near rivers

Baskets of Flowers: decorative blocks that come in many different variants (Blue, Green, Light-Blue, Purple, Multicolored, Orange, Magenta, Pink, Red and Yellow)

- Basket: decorative block used to craft Baskets of Flowers
- Gene Modifiers: used in Gen-Lab craftings, obtained via mixing redstone and DNA Helix:

- Genes: used in Gen-Lab craftings, they can be obtained using a Gene-Collector

- Mortar and Pestle: used in a crafting grid to grind Shiny Shards into Shiny Dust. Its max durability is of 64 but can accept Unbreaking and Mending
- Shiny Pebble: those tiny rocks can be found in caves in small groups. When broken they drop a random item left by a miner. They can't be harvested or crafted.
- Gene Collector: used to extract genes form Sheep, Bushes, Vines and Chickens. To use it just left click the target, the action won't hurt the mob or destroy the block.
- Blue Berry Bush: similar to Sweet berry bush but won't hurt you. It drops Blue Berries that if planted grow a new bush. They spawn in grassy biomes and near rivers.

Cooked Earth Worm: obtained by cooking an Earth Worm in a furnace/smoker. The cooking process will remove the nausea effect applied by the raw version

Earth Worm: obtained when hoeing grass/dirt/podzol. It has 1 chance out of 3 to be dropped and if eaten raw it will give a strong but short nausea effect. Can be used to breed Moles

Resource Sheep: their spawn-egg can be crafted in Gen-Lab. When sheared they drop the material "they are made of"

Resource Chickens: their spawn-egg can be crafted in Gen-Lab. Instead of lay eggs they drop the material "they are made of"
- Moles: they can be found hiding in Heap of Dirt or in caves/dark spots. They drop Mole Hide and Mole's Nose and can be bred with Earth Worms
- Cauldron Filled with acid: obtained via right clicking a cauldron when holding a Bottle of Acid, while sneaking. Try to have a bath in one of those might not be a great idea. It's used to obtain DNA Helix
- Acid: right clicking a cauldron while sneaking when holding one of those to obtain a Cauldron with Acid. Don't taste fantastic, you don't want to drink it. To craft Acid just sneak on top of a cauldron while you have redstone, fermented spider eyes and potion of poison in your inventory
- Vegetal DNA Helix: obtained via trowing vines, grass or leaves in a Cauldron Filled with Acid. Can be used to craft Vegetal Gene Modifier
- Animal DNA Helix: obtained via trowing meat (mutton, chicken, beef) in a Cauldron Filled with Acid. Can be used to craft Animal Gene Modifier
- Potion of Senses: brew with Mysterious Sensory Organ and Awkward Potion. It's used to find Shiny Shard Ore in a brand-new way
- Potion of Luck: now you can, finally, brew Potions of Luck with Shiny Shard Dust and Awkward Potion. This version of the potion in quite powerful
- Mysterious Sensory Organ: crafted with Bat's Eardrum, Mole's Nose and Redstone. It can be used to brew Potion of Senses
- Bat's Eardrum: finally even bats are useful! They now have 1 chance out of 6 (configurable) to drop this new item used in potion brewing.
- Dolphin Fin: when killed dolphins have 1 chance out of 3 (configurable) to drop this item. It's used to crew Dolphin' Grace Potions
- Strong String: reinforced strings used for crafting recipes
- Fancy Bowl: it's just a bowl, but better. Used to craft Fancy Mortar and Pestle
- Bedrock Cutter: an end-game powerful tool used to cut bedrock. To use it just sneak and right click a bedrock block, keep in mind it can break one block only. Have fun on top of the nether!
- Flowery Water Lily: this lily pad with a flower on top can be found in swamps, flower forests and jungles

- Frozen Vines: those vines spawns in icy biomes and can be collected with shears. If placed on top of water, they turn it into blue ice!

- Yeti: a new mob that spawns in icy biomes. It's passive until you attack it, but better don't have a beef with him, he's petty strong
- ???: ????
- Coconuts: small groups of coconuts spawns pretty frequently in beach biomes, they can be harvested and broke into Coconut Pieces that can be eaten

- Coconut Pieces: obtained breaking coconuts, they are can be eaten
- Walking Fungus: this cute little dude can be found in really small groups when wandering around dark forests or mushroom biomes. They are tempted by brown/red mushrooms and bone meal, that's also used to breed them. They prefer to stay away from bees (more purposes in future releases).

- Fancy Stick: no more toothpick! Used in crafting recipes
- Better Fishing Rods: Tired of cheap wooden rods that breaks after few uses? Well, that's a problem of the past!
Reinforced Fishing Rod: it has a (configurable) durability of 300 uses and it's just better than the default rod. Also the enchantability is a bit higher
Robust Fishing Rod: it has a (configurable) durability of 1000 uses and let's just admit it... that's a pretty cool flex. The enchantability is even higher.
- Fancy Mortar and Pestle: trust me, it's worth the grind! It's can be enchanted just like the normal mortar and pestle but this one also accept Fine Grinding that allows for mor dust per shard grinded, plus is way more durable.
- Fine Grinding Enchantment: this one can be applied only to the Fancy Mortar and Pestle. Fine Grinding has 2 levels: Level 1 allows for 2 extra dust per shard (3 total) while Level 2 will provide 4 extra (5 total).


- Re-Enchanter: unlucky with the enchanting table? That's not a problem, get better enchants with the re-enchanter! Take a look at Functionalities Explained for further info
- Dolphin's Grace Potion: finally you can brew dolphin's grace potions using a Dolphin Fin (obtaining a level 2 potion!).
