The
-uoption foravrdudeis not mentioned in several man pages, and the debian man page specifically calls it out as no longer being present and silently ignored. (https://manpages.debian.org/trixie/avrdude/avrdude.1.en.html#s,).avrdudev8.1 fails with this option set on my computer.
