A bug was introduced in #63, where an error related to string processing occurs if
Bragg2DPtychois used, butsurface_normalandscattering_modeare bothNoneand no orientation is specified in the dataset. See #65The changes made here guard the string processing/inspection of
scattering_modeagainst cases wherescattering_modeis not a string (i.e.,NoneType).
