Setup
Before you can run MCR, you'll need to prepare three main components and ensure a quick technical setting is enabled.
Using MCR involves bringing together three crucial elements:
- The Template: This is your report's blueprint. It defines the layout, general information common to all participants, and designated spaces for personalized data. You'll create this in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Participant Data: These are the unique numerical, text, and graphical results for each individual participant that MCR will insert into their report.
- The Compilation Excel File: This central Excel workbook acts as a command center that MCR will source all of the individualized data from. It holds all your participant-specific data (text, numbers, and image locations) in an organized format, ready for MCR to use. Once these components are prepared, MCR will be ready to process them and generate your reports.
If running MCR on older excel versions, in order for MCR to work, you need to enable enable the "Microsoft PowerPoint 16.0 Object Library" within Excel's VBA editor. This allows MCR to interact with PowerPoint files.
Go to --> Developer Tab | Visual Basics| Tools | References | Microsoft Powerpoint 16.0 Object Library"
(If the image above does not load, refresh this page).
New excel versions may not have the Developer Tab. If you receive an error upon opening or running MCR, you may need to enable the Macro.
