Is that tested? Because -q should not be the problem related to ghostbsd/issues#284.

     -q, --quiet, --silent
             Quiet mode: suppress normal output.  grep will only search a file
             until a match has been found, making searches potentially less
             expensive.

Yes. I executed the command in a GhostBSD VM. -q did not trigger. -e triggered as expected.
