Overview

LLM Unify provides a local-first, privacy-focused solution for managing your AI conversations across multiple platforms. Import, search, and browse your chat histories from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and other LLM providers through a unified interface.

Features

  • Multi-Platform Support: Import conversations from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, and more

  • Local-First: All data stored locally in SQLite - no cloud dependencies

  • Privacy-Focused: Your conversations never leave your machine

  • Powerful Search: Full-text search across all conversations

  • Modern TUI: Terminal user interface built with Ratatui

  • Comprehensive CLI: 13 commands for complete control

  • Zero Unsafe Code: Memory-safe Rust implementation

Installation

cargo install llm-unify-cli

Quick Start

= Import ChatGPT conversations
llm-unify import chatgpt ./conversations.json

= Launch TUI
llm-unify tui

= Search conversations
llm-unify search "rust async"

= List all conversations

Architecture

LLM Unify is built as a Rust workspace with 6 crates:

  • llm-unify-storage: SQLite persistence layer

  • llm-unify-parser: Import parsers for various platforms

  • llm-unify-search: Full-text search implementation

  • llm-unify-cli: Command-line interface

  • llm-unify-tui: Terminal UI

Project Philosophy

We believe in: - User autonomy over platform lock-in - Privacy by default, not by policy - Open source as a public good - Accessibility for all users - Local-first data ownership

We reject: - Surveillance capitalism - Dark patterns and manipulation - Gatekeeping and elitism
