The word SNAPSHOT means the version of the project that is in development but the word SNAPSHOT is not important for maven.
Pom packaging is simply a specification that is used to aggregate another project, it’s not a plugin is a phase.
The dependency plugin provides the capability to manipulate artifacts and defines a set of dependencies that the project will fetch from the Maven Repository
###Dependency Management
I add the following dependency (tika-core) in the POM**
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.tika</groupId>
<artifactId>tika-core</artifactId>
<version>1.20</version>
</dependency>
then change the App class to FileSpy class and i put the xml code in the POM:
<build>
<plugins>
<plugin>
<groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId>
<configuration>
<source>1.8</source>
<target>1.8</target>
</configuration>
</plugin>
</plugins>
</build>
