Reporting an Issue

So, you found an error, bug or incompatibility issue? I appreciate you letting me know about it! I'll check it out as soon as possible. But before you write about it, I just need to level with you what I'm going to need in order to attack it effectively. Since I'm yet to encounter the issue, right now you're the only one who can gather this info. So, please, follow these (very simple) steps:

1. Before anything, please check here if that problem wasn't already reported.

This will save time, both yours and mine. If the issue is there already, feel free to add anything you believe might me useful.

2. If you're not using it already, please install HugsLib just this once.

It will make it easier for us to check what's going on. If you're not on Steam, you can download it directly from here.

3. Please, also make sure you're running the latest version.

You can see what version you're running on the first lines on your log, like this: OpenTheWindows(av:2.0.0,fv:2.5.2), where fv is our version number. See step 6 below on how to open the log.

4. See if you can reproduce the issue with only Open The Windows present.

This is crucial for us to rule out any possible conflicts with other mods you might be using.

5. If that's the case, it's crucial that you identify the conflicting mod.

Please, try removing other mods and restarting the game until you can make the problem go away. This way you'll know the last mod you removed was the culprit. With a large mod list you'll need to be smart about it or it will take forever, so do this: split you mods in half, try the first half, then the rest. Then take that half still causing the problem and split it again, and repeat this process until you found the culprit. It's the fastest way to go about it. I'm sorry to ask for this effort, but as you can imagine there's no chance I'll have the time to recreate your particular mod list just to chase a possible issue!

6. As soon as you're able to repeat the problem while running ONLY the involved mods (& HugsLib), please copy the full log.

Just hit CTRL+F12 and either upload and copy the link, or copy the full log to clipboard, paste it on a text file and send it to me. I NEED THE FULL LOG, sending only the immediate error isn't enough.

7. It might be useful if you can keep a save file with the error occurring

This will enable us to check in a reliable way if any solutions have worked.

Ok, ready? Continue to reporting.
