Translations for MCEdit 2 are made using Weblate. Here is a quick guide to getting started for translators.

  • Log in with your GitHub account. If you don't have an account, create one. You will be able to log into the Weblate site using your GitHub account, and the account will be credited for any translations you do.
  • Visit the Weblate site and click the Register link in the top-right corner. Click the GitHub icon in the Third Party Registration area on the right to create your account. Alternately, you may create an account directly on the Weblate site.
  • Find the language you want to translate and click the Translate button on the right hand side.
  • To look at a longer list of texts to translate instead of doing them one at a time, click the Zen button in the top-right corner.
  • Some texts (such as "NBT Data" or "Tile Entity") are technical terms and your language may not have words for them. If you are unsure, the rule of thumb is "If it is translated in Minecraft, then it should be translated in MCEdit."
  • If you just want to try things out without worrying about breaking something, try doing the "Pirate" translation.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to open an issue here. Thanks for helping out!
