@flipglif1 could you include the README.md changes in #69 to this PR and close #69 so we can keep all the related changes on #68 (this PR)? Also, please bump a new integration version in README.md and package.yaml according to Semantic Versioning.

updated the dns check so that instead of hostname it uses record, There seemed to be a conflict somewhere with the hostname variable
