I love to use PIP because of how light it is. I always make the same modifications to it though, and they seem like things that are always a necessity, but isn't necessarily adding them as a "feature" if you will.
I understand many things could be done with this in terms of extending, but I feel this is worthwhile.
Check out the config file, in it is an autoload array, I'm sure you can infer the rest. Helpers are accessed via the $this keyword.
