It seems better to 'expose' what thematic is doing so that: * We can make things like show.settings() just work * Users can access thematic's lattice theme * Is consistent with the model we use for base plotting (ggplot2 is different in that global modifications can be scoped in ggplot2_build() because we know that''l always be called before 'plot-hook' time
