Logger
-----------------------

Logs can be added to the Lua scripts for basic debugging by using `logger` - a shell command interface to the syslog.

Following is an example:

`local data=12345`
`luci.sys.exec("logger -t luci \"" .. tostring(data) .. '"')`
where `data` can be any variable.

The logging output is sent to logread.
`# logread
user.notice luci: 12345`

The other way of logging can be done by including Commotion_helpers module in your Lua script, which can be used to print tables, etc., this is explained in the next section.
