I've added a link to my repo which provides code to convert any animated GIF into a GIFT CSV file.
The generated animation is projected through the X-axis of the tree (by default), so it only makes sense to view it from that particular direction.
The repo also includes an obligatory Matplotlib GIFT visualizer, though it's not quite as fancy as those I've seen so far :)
One important thing to note is that the conversion currently assumes a one-to-one conversion between GIF frames and GIFT frames, with no timing information. There has been a lot of discussion over here about how to control the animation speed, but it has not been accepted into their main branch as of writing. Once a consensus has been reached regarding this I'll try to update my tool so as to make use of it.
I've also included two examples of converted GIFTs in the examples folder.
