Controllers

We seem to like the every audience member's phone becomes a gamepad approach? Easy to build, and it was quickly parseable by the audience at Babycastles. A basic D-pad is easy enough, but if we need more buttons or e.g. accelerometer data that's not hard to add either.

Gameplay

Inverted Shmup

A scrolling shmup, except the "player" is actually controlled by AI (and us, via the REPL) and the audience plays as the easy-to-kill but numerous "enemies". Everyone gets an enemy that they control trying to hurt the "player" ship, and when they are inevitably killed they respawn as another enemy.

Main inspirations are R-Type and Darius Twin.
