A set of installation scripts for a non-admin, relocatable development environment
- caroby.bat
setup a new development environment. Store local machine state
in %TEMP%\caroby-registry.bat
Directory structure is: . => %DEVENVIRONMENT_DIR%
- .\packages
- .\bin Batch files and sh scripts sourced into the path
- .\init.d\
Initialize paths and other environment variables by sourcing
every batch file (for cmd) and every .sh file (for cygwin)
cmd and .sh initializations are separate so we can have different path orders for cmd vs. bash
Set blah_install_dir here if we need it elsewhere
- .\make-shortcut.bat Drag and drop an executable here to create a shortcut with the cmd environment sourced in
- .\caroby-init.bat [replace cygwin-env.bat for the most part]
- Set the following environment variables that \init.d and \bin can depend on:
- CAROBY_DIR = relative to current script path
- PACKAGES_DIR = so we don’t have to hard code ‘packages’ (?)
- initialize everything in \init.d
- For cmd, call every .bat file
- for bash, call every .sh file
- Set the following environment variables that \init.d and \bin can depend on:
- create checkin script to compare the “functions section” of every script with a “core.bat” that has the latest versions of all of our functions
- How do we structure the scripts at the top level? Have one “driver script” that calls the sub-scripts? Might be nice to build a menu
