Use cases

WADAS is meant to support following use cases:

1. Tunnel monitoring
2. Road monitoring
3. Custom spot monitoring (Marsican brown bear detector)
4. Predators detection

Use Case 1: Tunnel monitoring

As tunnels are one of the main threats to wildlife, it is important to detect and alert the passage of wild animals in proximity, or even inside, tunnels.

WADAS shall be able to detect any animal approaching the tunnel and signal a warning in order to stop the traffic within the tunnel. Moreover, WADAS shall be able to understand whether the animal has entered the tunnel and signal its presence untill it leaves and free the tunnel.

Use Case 2: Road monitoring

WADAS shall be able to detect any animal approaching a particularly dangerous roads and intersections (or long curve with no visibility for both drivers and animals) and alert the traffic in order to avoid accidents.

Use Case 3: Custom spot monitoring

WADAS shall be able to detect the passage of a Marsican Brown bear, distinguishing from any other wildlife, and notify the passage to authorities.

Use Case 4: predators detection

WADAS shall be able to detect any predator approaching the farm animals (or feeder) and trigger the actuation of a safe state: close food dispenser or gate.
