Changes that your stack can make today to get ready for S3

API changes that break current stacks

  • there are no known breaking changes at this time All stacks that follow best practices in web design and use the API responsibly should work in Stacks 3 without modification.

API changes that may cause issues

The default version of jQuery is now v2. Any stack following best practices should already be compatible. But for those few stranglers, we've got you covered, check out the compatibility versions.

UI updates

Retina icon sizes, author info, and tags. Stacks will pull this info from Stacks 2 formats for compatibility. But adding new icons sizes and tags will improve your customer's experience

API improvements for building better stacks

These are a few of the many API improvements that have been added to stacks. For more details please see the other example stacks on github or follow along in the Slack channel.

API that has been marked for removal

Repeat will be going away next year. There's no rush, but it's time to start thinking about updating to the new API.
