Building the Database

How fast the database is built (or updated) will depend on Internet speed, computer speed and website traffic (how many people are accessing the website at the time).

A build / update could take as little as 10 minutes or as much as 3 hours. The right panel will post updates as the build progresses.

Since the program supports multiple VECs, at the menu, select "Import/Update ARRL Session Counts" or "Import/Update GLAARG Session Counts". The reason the update function has been split by VEC is for the possibility that one or more VEC website might not be available.

The Auto-Update will import/update all session counts.

As of version 0.97, ASC-DB will recognize the old database format and upgrade the database automatically. The upgrade can take as long as an hour or more (depending on your system hardware) to complete.
